Batch Camera Render 1.6

2009-09-06

Download Script

Version:
1.6

Release Date:
06 Sectember 2009

New Features and Improvements:

  • auto submit netrender jobs added - net render jobs can be submitted automatically, skipping max's submission dialog for every job.

  • new rollout-izated layout

  • some ui elements' state saving during max session:

    • rollout state

    • main frame size

    • 'Net Render', 'Show Dialog', 'Save File', 'Save Vray Image' checkboxes

    • list item checked state

  • vray image file extension chooser added

  • added checking if render type is set to view - if render type to region, blowup or something except view mode warning dialog box appears.

Bug Fixes:

  • forced on lights didn't work correctly - seems like fixed, needs more testing.

  • fixed numerical scene state names

  • stops render if some of the light not found in scene - fixed

  • open folder command fixed - caused max hanging in certain situations

  • better button enable/disable state handling when list items selected/checked

Special Notes:

  • Port parameter in Net Render Options rollout doesn't work in this version.

  • Default Subnet Mask and Manager Name are hardcoded so if you need different settings you can edit maxscript - line 1596 and 1601

Major Todo Features:

  • Render Elements rollout with relative path options.

  • Option to specify script which will be run after last camera render - for example, may be used to shutdown render server(s).

  • Image File name template system (Tim Sparks's advice) - special syntax to include camera name, scene state name, date, resolution and so on.

I have just found time to start testing this script and I am so excited. I will give you an update on its greatness asap.

Privet!

Very nice script and helpfull.

Just a few remarks...

When opening the scripts and there are many cameras in the scene, it seems to redraw it's interface many times and scrolling down the list of cameras seems to be sluggish.

I appeciate fixing pixel aspect ratio bug in the 1.7 but you could probably add the possibility Not to use MAX frame buffer, but Vray's frame buffer instead.

All in all, good work and thanks very much!

Hi!

I did the test with 50 cameras and didn't notice performance problems. How many cameras do you have in your scenes? Also make sure you have recent dotNet library installed, since script uses this library to build the spreadsheet.

It's strange, I've turned off frame buffer in render setup and turned on vray frame buffer in vray settings, but script is rendering without frame buffer. Didn't try this kind of setup, I've used "Save Vray image" flag... Ok, I'll try to fix it.
